Bromley Phoenix had the honour of hosting Evan Walshe, a GB 3×3 International and Pro player with London 3×3 at our men’s practice this week!

Evan has experience across the British Basketball League and Super League Basketball, suiting up for Surrey Scorchers, Leicesters Riders, Manchester Giants and Bristol Flyers. Evan now competes internationally for Great Britain in the exciting 3×3 format of basketball. He also plays for the UK’s first pro 3×3 team, London 3×3.

Jumping straight into the action, Evan joined our men’s team in running through drills and scrimmaging with our players. Beyond the court, Evan also spoke to our players about his role off the floor as a Protection Advisor, giving an insight on how players can protect themselves if life can take an unexpected turn.

Moments like these are invaluable for our players. Having a professional athlete and Great Britain international like Evan in the gym shows that the pathway from grassroots to the professional game is real and achievable. His visit reminded us all that consistency, hard work, and passion for the game are the foundation of success.
