We are thrilled to announce that Bromley Phoenix is now a Basketball England Level 1 Accredited Club under the national Club Standards. This is a major milestone in our journey to build a sustainable, well governed, and community focused basketball club in Bromley.

From the very beginning, Bromley Phoenix has ensured that all required standards were in place. We established a clear constitution and development plan, appointed a Club Welfare Officer, adopted safeguarding and equality policies, and set up strong governance and financial systems. Meeting these standards from the offset reflects our commitment to transparency, safety, and sustainability.

Basketball England’s accreditation framework recognises clubs that prioritise governance, safeguarding and development. For us, achieving Level 1 Accreditation is not simply a formality. It is recognition that Bromley Phoenix is committed to professionalism and accountability in every aspect of how we operate. It also opens the door to exciting opportunities for our players and members.

With Level 1 status, Bromley Phoenix is now eligible to enter the Junior National Basketball League (Jnr. NBL) from the 2026/27 season. We also gain access to funding support, webinars, training opportunities and guidance from Basketball England. These benefits will help us to strengthen our programmes, support our coaches and volunteers, and give our players even greater opportunities to thrive now and in the near future.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our trustees and coaches whose hard work behind the scenes has been instrumental in building the club to this standard so quickly. It also reflects the support of our players, parents and community who have embraced the vision of creating a basketball club that Bromley can be proud of.

Looking ahead, this accreditation is just the beginning. It provides a firm foundation from which we will continue to grow, expand our teams, and work towards Level 2 accreditation in the future. Most importantly, it means our members can be confident they are part of a club that is safe, well structured and ambitious.
