Bromley Phoenix Basketball Club marked a major milestone earlier this month as players, coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters came together to celebrate the club’s first birthday and inaugural end-of-season Awards Evening.
Just twelve months after launching with a vision to build a thriving basketball community in Bromley, the club paused to reflect on a remarkable first year of growth and achievement. Founded on the principles of community, competition and development, Phoenix has quickly established itself as Bromley’s newest and most ambitious basketball club.
The evening recognised the dedication and commitment shown by members across the club, with awards presented to players who have demonstrated outstanding effort, improvement and performance throughout the season.

Special acknowledgements were also presented to those who have contributed behind the scenes, with Hector recognised for his work in table officiating and Dimitar thanked for his support of the men’s team first overseas tour to Bulgaria in May.
“While trophies were handed out on the night, the event was about far more than individual awards. It served as an opportunity to celebrate everyone who has helped shape the club’s first chapter,” said co-founder and head of junior basketball, Rob. “From players developing their skills on the court, to coaches giving their time, volunteers supporting operations, and families who have backed the journey from day one. We are so proud.”
In just one year, Bromley Phoenix has launched junior and senior teams and training sessions, established a presence within the local basketball community, and built strong foundations for future growth. The club fielded U14, U16 and Men’s teams last season with plans to expand opportunities for players of all ages and abilities from September.
“Our first year has been incredible. What stands out most isn’t the awards or achievements, but the people. We’ve built a club that players, families, coaches and volunteers are proud to call home. This evening was a celebration of everyone who has contributed to that journey,” added co-founder and head of senior basketball, Andy.
