Play Junior Basketball in Bromley

Qualified coaches · Safeguarding-first · Providing a pathway to CVL and NBL

passionate about developing the future of basketball in bromley

Our Junior Programme is focused on Development and Competition, maximise players potential to success. The programme has three core pillars:

  • Qualified coaches: All lead coaches will be at least England Basketball Level 2 coaches.
  • Safeguarding-first: We understand the importance of ensuring all players feel safe and supported at Bromley Phoenix.
  • Pathway to CVL & NBL: We support and encourage players to play as much as possible and gain experience within a variety of competitive set ups.

For 2025/26, we’re launching a training and competition pathway that helps players build confidence, sharpen skills, and learn to thrive in a game setting. We’re entering two teams into the London Central Venue Basketball League, which is a great opportunity for our young players to gain confidence, grow as athletes and build strong team habits.

What is the Central Venue League (CVL)?

The Central Venue League (CVL) that Bromley Phoenix will compete in is a monthly competitive league for:

U14 players (school years 8 & 9) – Bromley Phoenix U14 team page

U16 players (school years 10 & 11) – Bromley Phoenix U16 team page

Basketball England LogoAll games are played at a centralised local venue (hence the name). This provides players and parents access to competitive basketball without the need to travel across country on the weekend.

Each month, our teams will play at least 2 games. It’s a fun, structured and competitive setting that allows players to put their training into action. Central Venue Leagues also have specialised rules to ensure players receive guaranteed game time and accelerate their development.
