Anneke Deters

Safeguarding Officer

Background

Anneke’s passion for team sports was ignited during her school years, where she developed a particular love for netball. A dedicated and enthusiastic player, she proudly represented Kent in her teenage years. Following the arrival of her children, her commitment to sport remained unwavering. She actively participated in her own netball club, with a netball post becoming a permanent and much-loved fixture in the family garden. Sport became an integral part of family life, with weekends and evenings often spent supporting her children across a wide range of sporting activities—whether pitchside, courtside, on the mats, or at the pool. Her middle son, in particular, embraced basketball with the same fervour she once had for netball, deepening her connection to the world of youth sport.

In recent years

She is now proud to be a member of the Phoenix team, where she brings her experience and enthusiasm as a parent, teacher, and the Club’s Safeguarding Officer. Her dedication lies in fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and secure environment where young athletes across Bromley can grow with confidence and pride.

At Bromley Phoenix, she is committed to supporting the development of the whole athlete—both on and off the court. Her vision includes helping young players cultivate essential life skills, offering access to training opportunities, and encouraging them to pursue valuable qualifications that will benefit them far beyond the game.
